FAQs
What does overnight newborn care include?
Overnight care includes feeding, burping, nappy changes, settling your baby to sleep, baby bathing, and hygiene. I also do baby-related laundry and light housekeeping to help keep your home tidy while you rest.
What times do you work?
My standard overnight shifts run from 9 PM – 7 AM. Custom start/end times may be discussed based on your family’s needs.
Do you only care for newborns?
No, I specialize in caring for newborns aged 1 day to 6 weeks old.
I do however also offer baby sitting for children 6 weeks old - 12 years old.
Can you help sleep train my baby?
My focus is on overnight newborn care rather than structured sleep training. However, I create a calm, consistent nighttime routine to help set the foundation for good sleep habits.
What are your qualifications?
I have 8 years of nursing experience as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse. I also hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate and have my Infant CPR certifications to ensure the safest possible care for your little one. I also have 3 little ones of my own.
Do you have experience with multiples (twins, triplets, etc.)?
Yes! I have experience caring for multiple newborns at once and can accommodate twins or more. Contact me to discuss a tailored care plan for your family.
Do you look after newborns with high or complicated care needs?
Unfortunately, at this time, I do not provide care for medically complex newborns.
If your baby has high-care needs, I recommend booking a consultation to discuss whether my services are the right fit or if a more specialized care provider would be better suited.
How far in advance should I book?
Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. It’s best to book as early as possible to secure your preferred nights, especially for weekend or extended care packages.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 10% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due 72 hours before the booking. You can choose to pay the full amount at the time of booking.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 72 hours before the booking will receive a partial refund of 2%.
Last-minute cancellations may be non-refundable.
Where do you offer services?
I provide in-home overnight care within Blackwater, Emerald and Surrounding Suburbs.
Are there travel fees?
Travel within 30 km of Blackwater is included.
Travel beyond 30 km up to 100 km incurs a fee of $2.30 per km plus compensation for travel time.
Travel beyond 100 km may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What do you bring with you?
I bring my own supplies, including:
Hand sanitizer and gloves for hygiene
First Aid Kit
My own snacks/drinks to get through the night
However, I primarily use your baby’s own bottles, formula, breast milk, nappies, and other personal items to maintain consistency.
Will you update me during the night?
If you’d like, I can send updates or photos of your baby’s night. Otherwise, I’ll ensure a peaceful experience while you sleep and provide a summary in the morning.
What happens if my baby becomes unwell?
If I notice any signs of illness or distress, I will contact you immediately to discuss the next steps. I cannot provide medical treatment beyond basic first aid.
Can I book extra nights if needed?
Yes! If I have availability, you can extend your booking for additional nights as needed
